Give Power To Designers!

I love watching all the great TED talks. Here is another one on design. Speaker Jacek Utko, a designer from Poland, talks about what design can do for a traditional medium like newspaper. He explains in a few words how he transformed three east-european newspapers into «The World's Best Designed Newspapers» and achieved increases in sales up to 100% thereby. I can only joyfully support him in his encouraging conclusion:
Give power to designers!
I guess I've to change my mindset concerning my thesis project drastically as Utko formulates in his closing words a statement against any possible excuse for mediocrity:
You can live in a small poor county – like me. You can work for a small company. In a boring branch. You can have no budget, no people. But still you can put your work to the highest possible level. And everybody can do it. We just need inspiration, vision and determination. I need to remember that to be good is not enough.
